My name is Jordan Flint (she/they)

Born and raised in the suburbs of Dallas, I grew up attending theatre performances with my family. Though I quickly fell in love with the art form, I knew from childhood that I never wanted to be the one in the spotlight. Instead, I took art classes whenever I could and ended up joining technical theatre in high school, thinking I wanted to be a scenic artist. It wasn't until one of my teachers chose me to be her stage manager that I dove headfirst into the world of management. From that very first show, I knew that stage management was the career for me. I love stage management because it allows me to utilize both the analytical and creative sides of my brain.

I am currently getting my Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Stage Management from the School of Design & Production at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. During my time at UNCSA, I have learned about and practically worked on straight plays, musicals, ballet, contemporary dance, and opera. Alongside a traditional stage management curriculum, I have also taken courses in leadership, ethics, communication, and wellness.

A core part of my stage management style is facilitating community, shared smiles, and traditions—valuing collaboration and curiosity above all else. I advocate for community because I believe that the power of having people from different departments/art forms recognize, appreciate, and get to know each other strengthens collaboration as we work together to make the production happen. Overall, I am drawn to shows that transcend boundaries, showcase humanity through a collaboration of skill sets, and have the curiosity to always ask, “How do we continue pushing the boundaries of our work and fostering innovation?”
